My son was taken to a Utah Juvenile Detention facility on Friday Night can I bail him out? No. Juveniles are not eligible for bail like adult defendants. If a police officer arrests a juvenile and places that juvenile in detention, then the juvenile must wait to see the judge in order to be released. If a juvenile was arrested on Friday they will be held at least until Monday or Tuesday when a Juvenile Judge may release them.

This is different that adult defendants who are eligible for bail when charged with a crime. There are significant differences between adult criminal court and juvenile court, so be sure to retain a Utah attorney who is knowledgeable about the Juvenile Court system.
